As part of the "My City, Green Gold City" campaign, the organization conducted a plantation drive in collaboration with Anganwadi centers, teachers, and schools in Azampur village. VAN MAHOTSAV 2022

Purva Foundation celebrated Van Mahotsav 2022 in Janjokhar village with a vibrant tree plantation drive. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, teachers, and over 100 schoolchildren, along with more than 50 villagers, coming together to contribute to environmental conservation and make the program a resounding success.

CSR PLANTATION WITH VISHAL MEGA MART CSR TRUST

Purva Foundation, in collaboration with Vishal Mega Mart CSR Trust and the Forest Department of Meerut, undertook a plantation drive in Meerut district, planting 400 trees protected by tree guards. RIVER EXHIBITION

Purva Foundation, in collaboration with Neer Foundation, organized a River Exhibition at the Garh Ganga fair in Hapur district. Held on the banks of the Ganga River, the 10-day fair attracts millions for a holy dip. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness about rivers and water conservation. Shri Jayveer Thakur, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated the event, which saw participation from over 1,000 people.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND PLANTATION

During the National Scheme Service Camp, Purva Foundation engaged with over 150 students at Smile P.G. College, explaining the operations and impact of NGOs in community service. 1000 STEPS FOR RIVER

On International Day for Action for Rivers, Purva Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian River Council, launched the "1000 Steps for the River" campaign along the banks of the Kali River in Meerut. Over 500 participants walked 1,000 steps to raise awareness about river conservation. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Deepak Meena, District Magistrate of Meerut, and aimed to highlight the critical importance of protecting and preserving our rivers.

On earth day , awareness programme on water conservation

On Earth Day 2023, with the theme "Invest in Our Planet", Purva Foundation organized a program dedicated to raising awareness about water conservation. The event featured a ceremonial Aarti along the banks of the Hindon River, followed by a tree plantation drive. Around 50 local residents participated, engaging in meaningful discussions on keeping the river clean and preserving its surrounding environment.

NUKKAD NATAK ON WATER CONSERVATION AT SCHOOL

Purva Foundation’s Environmental Education Program Coordinator, Aanchal Rathi, conducted a water conservation awareness session with over 80 schoolchildren in Bulandshahr district. Large scale plantation on river bank

Purva Foundation organized a large-scale plantation drive across 12 hectares of land along the banks of the Hindon River. The event was graced by Mr. Deepak Meena, District Magistrate of Meerut, as the chief guest, with SDM Sardhana and DFO Meerut as special guests. Over 400 people actively participated in the initiative. The plantation aimed to restore biodiversity along the riverbanks, improve water quality, and support the creation of a healthier ecosystem around the Hindon River.

Ground survey of amrit sarovar pond for u.p pond policy

The Uttar Pradesh Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department has drafted the UP Pond Policy, with Rohit Sangwan from Neer Foundation nominated to contribute to the policy development. As part of the initiative, a ground survey of the Amrit Sarovar ponds was conducted, focusing on ideal pond characteristics and the community's role in pond rejuvenation. Rohit Sangwan carried out this survey in Meerut and Bijnor districts, measuring various technical, economic, and social parameters, and compiled a detailed report to guide future pond restoration efforts.

Under the District Plan 2023-24, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Meerut, Purva Foundation organized a program focused on preventing pollution in the Hindon River, particularly in villages along its banks. Over 200 villagers and more than 100 schoolchildren joined the program, contributing to important conversations on river cleanliness and environmental protection.

Programs are being conducted to address the severe pollution of the Hindon River and its tributary, the Kali River, and explore effective methods for their revival. In the village of Husainabad Bhanwara, located near these rivers in Muzaffarnagar district, discussions were held with local villagers on how to rejuvenate the Hindon River. The Hindon River, along with its tributaries Krishna and Kali, spans approximately 400 kilometers and serves nearly 680 villages. However, the river is critically endangered due to severe pollution from industrial and domestic sources, leading to significant health issues, including a high incidence of cancer among local communities. In response, Purva Foundation has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign, visiting villages to educate residents on the importance of river conservation and gather their insights on potential solutions. Over 40 people participated in the program, contributing to the ongoing efforts to restore the river’s health.

RIVER TALK “ SHRI RAM AUR NADIYA”

In collaboration with the Bharatiya Nadi Parishad, Purva Foundation organized an event titled "Rivers, Lord Ram, and Society" in Meerut district. The event was graced by Shri Swatantra Dev Singh, the Irrigation Minister of Uttar Pradesh. During the program, the foundation presented key recommendations for Uttar Pradesh's river policy to the ministry, stressing the importance of river conservation and sustainable management for the future of the state’s water resources.

World wet land day 2024

On the occasion of World Wetland Day 2024, Purva Foundation, in collaboration with the Noida Development Authority, planted Canna Indica saplings in the Canal wetland area near the National Special Economic Zone of Noida. Canna Indica is known for its effectiveness in wastewater treatment, contributing to the restoration and preservation of wetland ecosystems.

Neem river awareness yatra

On February 29, 2024, Purva Foundation, in collaboration with the U.P. The Minor Irrigation Department, Hapur Division, Neer Foundation, and the Indian River Council, organized the Neem River Awareness Yatra. The one-day event, spanning 14 kilometers along the Neem River, was inaugurated by the SC of the Irrigation Department and the CDO of Hapur.
Objective: The Neem River Awareness Yatra aimed to highlight the significance of the Neem River and emphasize the need for groundwater conservation. The initiative sought to educate local communities about preserving this essential water source while encouraging a stronger connection between the river and its users.
Community Engagement: Throughout the yatra, Rohit Sangwan from Purva Foundation and Raman Kant from the Indian River Council engaged with residents from 10 villages along the river. They shared vital information about river cleanliness and encouraged discussions on how to protect and enhance the health of the river. This engagement played a key role in fostering a sense of collective responsibility for the river’s conservation.
